checklist for scholarship applications

  • Review our scholarship offerings here.

  • If you decide to apply for scholarships with financial aid read item (3) in https://www.hucphiladelphia.org/faq

  • For all applications you will need transcripts. Combine all transcripts into a single PDF file to upload.
    If your institution requires that it send official transcripts directly to us, please have them sent by email (preferred) to HUCScholarships@gmail.com or by regular mail Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia Scholarship Awards Committee, P.O. Box 42199, Philadelphia, PA 19101-2199.

    • High school seniors: (a) Provide a copy of all high school transcripts. Grades you have received for any part of your senior year must be included. (b) SAT/ACT scores - if available.

    • Current undergraduate students: Provide a copy of your undergraduate transcript. If you are a first year student include your high school senior year transcript. If you have been to more than one University, include the transcripts from all Universities that you have attended.

    • Graduate students: Provide a copy of your graduate trasncript. If this is your first year in graduate school include also your undergraduate transcript(s).

  • Recommendation letter(s). One recommendation letter is required for udnergraduate scholarships Two recommendation lettets for graduate students. You should provide the name and email of the people who will provide the letter(s) and the system will contact them directly.

    • High school seniors: Letters from guidance counselors, academic advisers, teachers or professors are preferred. Letters from personal acquaintances are to be avoided if possible.

    • Undergraduate students: Letters from university professors are preferred but letters from internship supervisors are considered appropriate.

    • Graduate students: Letters from university professors are preferred but letters from internship or regular job supervisors will be also accepted.

  • Access and complete the application in the link here (TO BE PROVIDED SOON). All students complete the same application.

  • Other supporting Documents include

    • a main essay

    • If you want to be considered for scholarships requiring documentation of financial need, provide the part of FAFSA report that includes the expected family contribution (EFC)

    • a resume describing academic honors, publications, recent achievements, activities, professional organizations you belong to, and work experiences reflecting interest in the field you are pursuing. A resume is mandatory for undergradaute and graduate students. For high school students a resume is optional, but they should list extracurricular activities where prompted by the application.

    • a second essay is required for some applications (Eleftheria, and Chios scholarships)
