President’s Message

September 2026

September has arrived—a new academic year, a new Ecclesiastical year, and a new year for the Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia. Καλή Χρονιά!

Greetings! It is with humility, honor, and deep gratitude that I once again have the privilege of serving as President of the Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia.

I look forward to working with our dedicated and innovative Board Members—listed in this newsletter—to bring intellectually rewarding topics through our Programs Series, along with opportunities for social interaction, fellowship, networking, and scholarship.

We are already off to a wonderful start!

Earlier this month, we received a generous anonymous donation of $15,000, designated primarily for our Programs Series initiatives. This gift directly supports our mission of ΠΑΙΔΕΙΑ, enabling us to further organize and develop programs that inform, educate, and inspire conversation across a variety of fields, enriching our learning and intellectual growth.

As we continue celebrating our 90th Anniversary, we are excited for what promises to be a special Opening Reception on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, where we will present our distinguished ΑΞΙΟΣ Award to Club Member and Past President Georgia Chletcos, a valued member of both our Club and the Greek American community.

Our first Program Event of the year will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026: Reflections of a Microvascular Plastic Surgeon—Reconstructing Shattered Lives. Dr. Frederic Deleyiannis will offer a deeply personal exploration of modern microsurgery through the perspectives of both patient and surgeon.

While we continue to honor our 90th Anniversary, we are already looking ahead to our Centennial Celebration. Over the next ten years, the Club will dedicate at least one event annually to our upcoming 100th Anniversary. Stay tuned for future announcements—we cannot wait to celebrate this milestone with you.
